Description

Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Officer to join our team. This permanent full-time role is responsible for delivering repairs, maintenance, and municipal services across properties and communities managed by Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corporation. Duties include carpentry, painting, plumbing, fencing, roofing, and general maintenance works while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, self-motivated, and committed to quality workmanship and community service.

Responsibilities:

    • Carry out repairs and maintenance work including carpentry, painting, plumbing, tiling, fencing, welding, roofing, and gyprocking.
    • Complete all maintenance tasks safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
    • Operate machinery, vehicles, and maintenance equipment safely and responsibly.
    • Ensure tools, equipment, and safety gear are maintained and returned correctly.
    • Work closely with the Works Foreman and Operations Manager on daily operations.
    • Assist other departments when required and respond to maintenance requests promptly.
    • Maintain compliance with WHS standards and relevant building and maintenance regulations.

Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in repairs, maintenance, construction, or a related trade role.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks.
    • Good understanding of WHS practices and safe work procedures.
    • Strong work ethic with a “can do” attitude and attention to quality workmanship.
    • Police Clearance and OCHRE Card (or willingness to obtain).
