Training and Education Lead
Xestro | Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast QLD | Full time, permanent
Build the education function of one of Australia’s leading medical software companies. Train practices across the country, own the learning platforms, and turn our clients into a community.
About the role
Xestro builds practice management and clinical software for private medical specialists. Thousands of clinicians and practice staff use it every day. Your job is to make sure they use it well.
This is a foundational appointment. You will design and deliver training to practice managers, administrative staff and doctors: mostly live online from our Maroochydore office, and regularly on-site at practices around Australia. You will build the systems that let education scale, and in time you will lead a small team.
This is a full-time, office-based role in Maroochydore. It is not a remote or hybrid position; you will be based in our Sunshine Coast office, with regular interstate travel to client practices.
It is also a commercial role. The education function runs as a self-sustaining business unit, funded through paid training, certification and related services. You own that outcome.
What you’ll do
- Deliver group and one-to-one training, remotely and on-site interstate, tailored to each audience: a practice manager’s needs differ from a treating doctor’s
- Run onboarding training for newly signed practices alongside our onboarding and conversion team
- Build a role-based curriculum: learning pathways, course materials, video walk-throughs, assessment and certification
- Set up and run our learning management system: self-paced modules, enrolments, completion tracking and reporting
- Oversee our in-app guidance and product-tour software: onboarding walk-throughs and contextual tips embedded directly in the product
- Manage our online client community and forum: structure it, moderate it, seed discussion and use the engagement data to drive adoption
- Write and maintain help articles in the Xestro help wiki, in step with the product
- Upskill Xestro’s own sales, support and onboarding staff so the whole team speaks to the software with authority
- Connect practices and practice managers to one another across the specialist craft groups, so our clients learn from their peers as well as from us
- Build paid training and certification into structured, repeatable revenue lines, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience in adult education and training, with the ability to make complex software simple for non-technical learners
- A warm, confident presence in front of a room, online or in person; people want to learn from you
- Fast software aptitude: able to learn a feature-rich clinical platform to expert standard and explain it clearly
- Willingness to travel regularly across Australia, with some overnight stays
- The organisation and self-direction to build a function rather than step into an established one
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or an education degree is preferred but not required; relevant experience can substitute. A background in healthcare or medical practice management, LMS administration experience, or experience building a user community will all count in your favour.
Why Xestro
- Growing fast and privately owned; based on the Sunshine Coast with a genuine office culture. This is an on-site role in Maroochydore, not remote and not hybrid
- A rare chance to build a function from the ground up, with the backing to do it properly
- Work that matters: better-run practices mean better care for patients
- Direct access to the executive team; you report to the Chief Operating Officer
