Conveniently located in a modern, purpose-built facility in the heart of Kununurra, Wunan Health is proudly owned and operated by Wunan Foundation, an East Kimberley Aboriginal development organisation.
As a rapidly expanding organisation, Wunan Health provides a range of services including:
- General Practice (GP) Clinic
- Allied Health Services
- headspace Kununurra
- Kununurra Withdrawal and Intervention Centre (KWIC)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our administration team in a full-time capacity. This is a pivotal frontline role supporting our health services, with opportunities to work across either the GP/Allied Health Clinic or headspace Kununurra.
About the Role
We are looking for someone who demonstrates professionalism, discretion and exceptional customer service. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised, and have the ability to manage competing priorities while working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to provide administrative support across Wunan Health services is essential.
Previous experience in an administrative or medical reception role is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for patients and visitors.
- Answer telephone enquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Receive and communicate messages verbally, electronically and in writing.
- Liaise compassionately with patients, families and carers.
- Communicate effectively with GPs, allied health professionals and other stakeholders.
- Schedule appointments using a computerised booking system.
- Scan, file and manage electronic documentation.
- Process banking, mail and EFTPOS transactions.
- Utilise Microsoft Office and practice management software, including Best Practice (BP).
- Work collaboratively within the administration team while independently managing allocated tasks.
About You
You will have:
- Previous administration or medical reception experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- A high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Best Practice (BP) software (desirable).
