The People and Culture Officer is responsible for supporting every aspect of the employment process and all the functions within People and Culture, particularly in the learning and development space. This is a permanent part-time position offering 30.4 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People and Culture Support:
- Support the implementation of People and Culture initiatives, policies, systems and processes that align with organisational priorities.
- Assist with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, databases and documentation.
- Provide timely and professional support to staff and leaders on general P&C queries and processes.
- Contribute to employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives that foster a supportive workplace culture.
- Provide reporting, documentation and administrative support to the People and Culture Manager as required.
Learning and Development:
- Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of staff learning and development programs.
- Support the implementation of the annual training plan and ensure training records are accurate and up to date.
- Work collaboratively with managers to identify capability gaps and develop tailored training solutions.
- Facilitate in-house and external training sessions and liaise with training providers as required.
- Maintain a training needs analysis and report on learning outcomes to support workforce planning.
- Coordinate induction programs, traineeships and work experience placements.
- Monitor employee progress in training and development activities to ensure successful completion and ongoing growth.
- Assist in the design and implementation of career pathways and professional development initiatives.
People and Culture Systems:
- Maintain and optimise HR systems and databases to ensure accurate reporting and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through system enhancements or automation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of People and Culture systems, resources and templates.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in People and Culture projects and organisational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve employee experience.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to enhance team effectiveness and service delivery.
Adhere to the vision and values of WLSQ:
- Develop respectful and professional relationships with WLSQ team members and key stakeholders.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively towards the WLSQ strategy.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in a Human Resources environment.
- Proven experience in a Human Resources role with responsibility across the employee lifecycle.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Leads by example in demonstrating and promoting organisational values and culture by working collaboratively and role modelling care and respect for others.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
