About the Role
📍 Cannonvale | 💼 Full-Time | 🕒 Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Enjoy helping people, working things out and getting to know your regular customers?
Whitsunday Foodservice is looking for a friendly, practical and organised person to join our front desk team at our Cannonvale depot. You’ll be the person customers turn to when they need an answer, help with an order or an update on their delivery. One moment you might be welcoming a customer collecting stock; the next, checking an order or speaking with our warehouse team to resolve a query.
There’s plenty to learn about our products, customers, delivery regions and systems. Building that knowledge takes time, so being comfortable asking questions, checking details and learning as you go is essential. You won’t be expected to know every answer from day one.
What You’ll Do:
- Helping customers over the phone, by email and at the front desk.
- Answering questions about orders, products, pricing, deliveries and stock availability.
- Processing orders, amendments, payments and additional requests.
- Assisting walk-in customers and coordinating customer pickups.
- Helping customers use online ordering and working through account or order issues.
- Following up with our purchasing, warehouse and sales teams to find accurate answers.
- Keeping customer records up to date and completing general administration.
The pace varies throughout the day. You’ll need to prioritise when calls, emails and walk-ins arrive together, then use quieter periods to follow up enquiries and keep administration on track.
What We’re Looking For:
Someone who likes being a dependable point of contact, building relationships and becoming confident in how a business works. You may have experience in customer service, reception, administration, hospitality or another role where you’ve handled customer queries while using computer systems. Some relevant experience will help you settle in, but you don’t need to have worked in foodservice before.
Key Qualities Include:
- Communicates warmly and clearly, in person and over the phone.
- Listens carefully, checks details and follows through on requests.
- Can switch between tasks while keeping track of what still needs doing.
- Is comfortable using computers, email and spreadsheets, and learning unfamiliar systems.
- Uses initiative and knows when to ask for help.
- Presents professionally and helps create a welcoming front desk.
- Has strong organisational skills and can manage competing priorities.
- Enjoys everyday customer service and takes pride in doing it well.
- Available to work school holidays.
An interest in food or hospitality, or experience using ordering, ERP or CRM systems, would be a bonus.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Consistent weekday hours with your weekends free!
- Weekly staff lunches to keep you fueled and connected!
- Access to a vibrant employer-supported social club!
- Employee discounts on all our products!
- Career growth in a thriving, expanding business!

If you’re looking for a steady role where you become someone our customers and team can rely on, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply with your resume and a short introduction telling us about your relevant experience and what interests you about the role. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so apply early.
