Your contribution to the team includes

The role of the Senior Marketing & Automation Manager is to lead the iteration, execution and optimisation of multi-channel marketing campaigns that deliver sustainable revenue growth while attracting, connecting and inspiring bulldogs members and fans. This role is also responsible for:

    Lead the planning, delivery and optimisation of integrated marketing campaigns and channel strategies that drive fan growth, membership, ticketing, retail, fundraising and AFLW outcomes, using data and insights to maximise engagement and conversion.

    Manage the clubs marketing calendar, owned channels and media partnerships, while collaborating across internal teams, the AFL and external agencies to strengthen brand awareness, enhance supporter communications, and improve member acquisition and retention

    Lead the Club CRM, database marketing and marketing automation strategy, overseeing Salesforce Marketing Cloud, customer journeys, segmentation, data governance and campaign delivery to drive engagement and revenue outcomes

    Use data, Insights and customer experience design to enhance fan engagement across membership, retail, venues, events and community programs, identifying opportunities to grow supporter and customer lifetime value

    Manage key relationships with the AFL, ensuring alignment, compliance with privacy requirements, effective use of marketing budgets and achievement of agreed performance outcomes

    Lead the development of data-driven marketing, fan engagement, and lead generation strategies that grow the Clubs supporter database, attract new audiences, and re-engage lapsed fans to drive membership and attendance outcomes

    Identify and activate strategic partnerships and community engagement opportunities that expand campaign reach, strengthen connection across Melbourne West, and enhance brand awareness and supporter engagement

    Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team by setting clear KPI’s, providing regular feedback, fostering engagement, and building capability through knowledge sharing

    Drive operational excellence across campaign planning and project delivery by improving processes, managing priorities and timelines, and promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

    Contribute to the development of the annual marketing and brand budget in partnership with Head of Marketing and Brand and Finance Leads to ensure that budget planning and forecasting is aligned to key business focuses and priorities.

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in digital marketing, CRM, marketing automation, or lifecycle marketing roles
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing automation platforms
  • Strong understanding of supporter/customer lifecycles and ability to build automated journeys that drive conversion and retention.
  • Ability to use data and analytics in a business, marketing and commercial context to inform decisions and strategy, measure performance and optimise processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multi‑channel marketing campaigns end‑to‑end across both paid and owned channels.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Developed understanding and knowledge of CRM tools and platforms, with experience working within a marketing automation environment;
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Ticketmaster Archtics and/or Google Analytics 360 would be considered advantageous.
