The West Coast Eagles is an iconic Australian sporting brand with over 100,000 members. The Club formed in August 1986, playing its first official match for premiership points in 1987. Our women’s side played its first game for AFLW premiership points in February 2020. Since then, the club has enjoyed significant success, winning premierships in 1992, 1994, 2006 and 2018. The club also has wide-spanning community and regional programs and is invested in a number of charity organisations, including the Waalitj Foundation.
About the role
This 12 month maternity cover position will provide sales support to the Premium Sales team in maximising all traditional forms of hospitality income and special projects and have a major focus in sourcing corporate/premium clients in line with the marketing strategic plan.
Reporting to the Premium Sales Manager, this role will be responsible for:
- Drive new sales of the club’s traditional income streams including Private Suites, Open Air Boxes and function rooms at Optus Stadium.
- Lead the team in generating new sales/business via LinkedIn, direct email and telemarketing.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with premium member accounts & client base built on trust and integrity
- Manage a portfolio of existing premium members and drive additional spend and ongoing renewals.
- Drive sales of the club’s Toyota AFL Grand Final packages.
- Provide sales support of the clubs various advertising media including LED & static ground signage, video scoreboard and digital.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with premium member accounts & client base built on trust and integrity.
- Provide sales support with the club’s corporate events including the Season Launch, John Worsfold Medal, Eagles Business Club along with any other major club event.
- Play an integral role in the club’s business network program, Eagles Business Club.
- Drive sales of the club’s all-content Private Suite at the MCG.
- Provide commercial, strategic and operational support to the club’s Charter Flight Program.
Due to the nature of the industry and this role, there is an inherent requirement to work home match days and other club events which will include working some evenings and weekends.

This role will suit an enthusiastic individual, that values teamwork and collaboration, possesses strong communication skills and can build robust and effective working relationships.
Additionally, you will have:
- Proven sales experience.
- Business to Business sales experience highly regarded.
- Strong phone and email manner and ability to convert sales over the phone (verbally) and/or in writing (via email).
- High level of customer focus.
- Self-starter with ability to use initiative.
- Capability and capacity to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced work processing skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (Sports RM preferred).
