Description

The Senior Fundraising Manager holds a pivotal role in steering the strategic fundraising efforts across mass fundraising portfolios. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Fundraising, the role provides strategic oversight and revenue management across various domains, including direct and digital marketing, regular giving, individual giving (including mid-value donors), bequests and community fundraising.

 The Senior Fundraising Manager leads a mid-sized team, including the Individual Giving Manager, Community Fundraising Manager and Key Relationships Managers.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Contribute to developing and delivering the overall fundraising strategy to achieve annual revenue targets and grow sustainable income streams, both existing and new.
  • Lead effective delivery of fundraising portfolios including direct and digital marketing, regular giving, bequests and community fundraising
  • Drive exceptional donor care and experience to improve retention across the  portfolio, embedding a donor-centric mindset organisation-wide
  • Create strategies for ongoing innovation and testing within the fundraising program
  • Develop and manage budgets, overseeing regular reporting on financial performance and KPIs
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Fundraising team, supporting and coaching members to meet and exceed agreed objectives
  • Build a team culture that cultivates Wayside’s values, collaborating with the Head of Marketing & Fundraising and Senior Leadership Team on operational excellence and efficiency
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the wider marketing and fundraising team
  • Drive continuous improvement in workflow processes and evaluate strategies/systems to strengthen decision-making
  • ·Measure and report campaign and business performance (ROI, KPIs, board reporting) using data and analytics to inform strategy and planning

ABOUT YOU

  • 7+ years of fundraising (or transferable) experience including 3+ years at a senior level. 
  • Thorough understanding and demonstrable practical experience in Direct Marketing, Gift in Will Fundraising, Community Fundraising and Regular Giving in the not-for-profit sector 
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing data-led fundraising strategies. 
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and strong numerical and analytical skills. 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience. Mobilising people to drive change and results.  
  • Demonstrated experience leading mid-sized teams and building a high-performing team culture. 
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and monitoring complex budgets. 
  • Experience in participating and leading strategic planning processes. 
  • Proven ability in leading innovation in fundraising programs.
