Description

Wayside Chapel is looking for a casual Retail Assistant to join our Op Shops located in Potts Point and Bondi. These are some of Sydney’s most popular second-hand clothes destinations, with a curated range of eclectic, fashion-leading, quality bargains. The Op Shops are an integral part of Wayside.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Maintain store operation and maintenance, including daily reconciliation and cash handling
  • Donation sorting including stock selection, inventory, destination and pricing
  • Demonstrate excellence in customer service
  • Assist with inventory turnover, quality control and visual merchandising
  • Assist with administration duties including customer emails and queries and phone calls
  • Assist with social media content

 

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • Knowledge of working in a customer-facing environment, such as retail or hospitality
  • Understanding of store operations and maintenance, including daily reconciliation and cash handling
  • Experience with inventory turnover, quality control and visual merchandising
  • Experience undertaking administrative duties including customer emails and queries and phone calls
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse types of people, and be openly non-judgmental, considerate, respectful, and kind.
  • Availability to work across all hours our shops are open, including weekends.

 Ideally you will also have:

  • Experience in a retail or customer-facing business
  • An eye for fashion and detail
  • Knowledge of the second-hand retail market
  • Working knowledge of social media and content creation
