We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Quality Officer to join our team and support the successful delivery of complex Defence projects.

Reporting to the QA Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring quality requirements are effectively integrated throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll work closely with project teams, production personnel and business leaders to develop robust quality processes, conduct inspections and audits, investigate issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This position requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable working across both office and workshop environments, building strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and customers while supporting quality outcomes across the business.

About the Role:

As our Project Quality Officer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards across projects from initiation through to delivery.

You will support the development of quality systems, provide assurance that project requirements are being met and collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.

No two days will be the same, with exposure to audits, inspections, testing activities, process development and continuous improvement initiatives across a diverse project environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing quality processes, controls and improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of process maps and quality documentation.
  • Developing Inspection and Test Plans and quality control activities.
  • Conducting inspections, testing and audit activities.
  • Monitoring compliance to project specifications, contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • Reviewing quality performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigating quality issues and non-conformances, completing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supporting project teams to achieve quality objectives and successful project outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate quality records and documentation

 

About You:

You are a quality-focused professional who takes pride in driving high standards, building strong working relationships and improving the way work gets done.

You will ideally bring:

  • A trade background or experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Project Quality role.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, Defence, aerospace, mining, rail, fabrication or a similar technical environment.
  • Understanding of quality management systems, compliance requirements and auditing practices.
  • Experience with inspections, testing and quality control activities.
  • Strong investigation, root cause analysis and problem-solving capability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively with workshop personnel, management, suppliers and customers.
  • A proactive approach and passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
