Join a Team Supporting Critical Defence Operations!
Are you a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic looking for a role that offers variety, autonomy, ongoing development? Join Varley Group’s Fleet Services team and help maintain a fleet of specialised vehicles supporting Defence and other key customers across Western Australia.
Based primarily at RAAF Base Pearce, you’ll also support customer sites including Rockingham and Exmouth, working on specialised assets including Aviation Refuelling Vehicles, Ground Support Equipment, and other specialised fleet vehicles.

About the Role:
As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will perform maintenance, repairs, diagnostics and fault-finding on specialised vehicles and equipment, ensuring operational readiness for critical customer operations.

What You’ll Bring
- An Australian Citizen and be and able to successfully complete a Federal Police check (requirement to hold appropriate Security Clearance).
- A qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Successfully complete a pre-placement medical including D&A testing.
- Hold an unrestricted driver’s licence.
- Willingness and ability to obtain HR/HC and Dangerous Goods licences (if not already held)

- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/PLC systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and procedures

- Confidence using technology and computer-based maintenance systems
- A proactive approach and commitment to continuous learning
Highly Regarded:
- Experience working on Aviation Refuelling Vehicles or Ground Support Equipment
- Previous Defence industry experience
- Veteran or ex-Defence background (Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply)
