Are you an experienced Heavy Vehicle Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor or Assistant Branch Manager ready for your next move?

TRUCK TECH is looking for a strong workshop leader to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our Chipping Norton workshop.

Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping the workshop running safely and efficiently, leading the team, driving productivity and making sure we deliver the standard our customers expect.

This isn’t a role where you’ll just manage a job board. We’re looking for someone who understands heavy vehicles, knows how to lead good technicians and can take ownership of getting things done.

If you’re already a Workshop Manager, or you’re an experienced Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand or Assistant Branch Manager ready to step up, we want to hear from you.

What’s On Offer?

  • Base from $130K – more for the right experience
  • Monthly performance incentives
  • Monday to Friday day shift – keep your weekends
  • Permanent full-time position
  • Genuine autonomy and ownership of the workshop
  • Certified Great Place To Work®
  • Supportive Branch Manager and leadership team
  • Modern heavy vehicle workshop
  • Career progression as TRUCK TECH continues to grow
  • Mechanic-led business that understands the trade

The Role

As Workshop Manager, you’ll take the lead on the day-to-day performance of the Chipping Norton workshop.

You’ll work alongside the Branch Manager while taking ownership of the people, workflow and standards on the workshop floor.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and holding the workshop team accountable
  • Planning and coordinating daily workshop workflow
  • Allocating jobs based on technician capability and workload
  • Monitoring productivity, job progress and turnaround times
  • Identifying issues early and keeping work moving
  • Working closely with Service, Parts and other teams to minimise downtime
  • Managing workshop logistics, subcontractors and vehicle movements
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing technicians and apprentices
  • Maintaining high standards across safety, quality and compliance
  • Supporting customer outcomes and resolving workshop issues
  • Acting as second-in-charge to the Branch Manager

About You

You don’t need to have the exact Workshop Manager title today.

You might currently be a Workshop Supervisor, Assistant Branch Manager, Workshop Foreman, Leading Hand, Service Manager or an experienced senior technician who has already demonstrated strong leadership capability.

What matters is that you can lead people, understand the demands of a busy heavy vehicle workshop and take ownership of performance.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology – essential
  • Strong heavy vehicle mechanical experience
  • Previous workshop leadership or supervisory experience
  • Confidence leading and developing technicians
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A practical approach to improving workshop productivity
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions and take ownership
  • HR or HC Licence highly regarded
