Description

This isn’t your typical IT role.

Yes, you’ll make sure the Wi-Fi works.

Yes, you’ll implement hotel systems, keep the PMS talking to the POS, support our users and make sure everything is secure.

But if that’s all you think this role is about, then Treehouse probably isn’t the place for you.

We’re looking for someone who understands that technology isn’t there to support a hotel…

It’s there to enhance the guest experience, empower our teams and make the impossible feel effortless.

About Treehouse Adelaide

Treehouse Hotels is coming to Australia.

Opening in Adelaide’s vibrant Market Square precinct, Treehouse Adelaide will be playful, creative, welcoming and deeply connected to its local community.

We’re creating a hotel where technology works quietly in the background, allowing our people to focus on genuine hospitality.

To achieve that, we need an IT leader who can build the foundations from day one.

The Role

This is a true pre-opening opportunity.

You’ll be responsible for standing up the entire IT function—from infrastructure and hotel systems through to user training, cyber security and ongoing support.

You’ll work alongside our project team, hotel leadership and home office technology partners to ensure every piece of technology is operational, tested and guest-ready before opening day.

More importantly, you’ll become part of a small but mighty team.

At Treehouse, we don’t believe in departmental silos.

When the hotel needs support, everyone steps in.

Whether that’s helping a colleague troubleshoot a system issue, supporting a new team member during induction, or jumping into the operation during opening week, we’re all working towards the same goal—creating an exceptional experience for our guests.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the pre-opening technology programme for Australia’s first Treehouse Hotel.
  • Coordinating the installation, testing and commissioning of all hotel technology systems.
  • Implementing and supporting PMS, POS, finance, procurement, HR and operational systems.
  • Partnering with home office IT and vendors to ensure seamless integration.
  • Developing IT policies, procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Managing cyber security, network integrity and data protection.
  • Supporting audiovisual systems throughout meeting and event spaces.
  • Training and supporting hotel users across all departments.
  • Acting as the hotel’s trusted technology advisor, translating technical issues into practical business solutions.
  • Being a visible and approachable member of the leadership team.

Who You Are

  • You’re technically strong—but your real strength is people.
  • You know how to explain complex technology in simple language.
  • You enjoy solving problems before anyone else even knows they exist.
  • You’re calm under pressure, naturally curious and genuinely enjoy helping others.

Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Previous IT leadership experience within hotels or hospitality.
  • Pre-opening experience (or significant hotel system implementation experience).
  • Strong understanding of hotel technology platforms and integrations.
  • Experience managing infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of hospitality systems such as PMS, POS, key card systems, guest internet, telephony and back-of-house applications.
  • Excellent vendor and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style and willingness to support the wider operation.
  • The ability to prioritise in a fast-moving, constantly changing environment.

What Success Looks Like

By opening day:

Every hotel system has been successfully implemented and tested.

Team members are confident using the technology available to them.

Operational disruptions are minimised through careful planning.

Technology enhances—not complicates—the guest experience.

The IT function is trusted as a business partner rather than simply a support service.

Why Treehouse?

You’ll have the rare opportunity to build an entire hotel technology ecosystem from the ground up.

You’ll work with an Executive Team that believes collaboration beats hierarchy and that the best ideas can come from anyone.

You’ll help shape the culture, systems and guest experience of Australia’s very first Treehouse Hotel.

Most importantly, you’ll join a team that believes hospitality is about people first—and technology should simply make that experience even better.

If you’re excited by the idea of building something from day one and want to be part of one of Australia’s most anticipated hotel openings, we’d love to hear from you.

Company Overview

Life at Treehouse At Treehouse, we’re a team of kind-hearted people who welcome everyone like old friends. We believe great hospitality should feel warm, natural and full of personality — never stiff, scripted or overly serious. We’re playful, optimistic and curious, and we’re always looking for ways to make someone’s day a little brighter. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting things done together. Titles and job descriptions don’t stop us from jumping in to help one another, particularly when there’s an opportunity to create something special. We look for people who bring positive energy, see possibilities rather than problems, and aren’t afraid to try something new. Curiosity is a big part of who we are. Treehouse is inspired by that sense of freedom and discovery we had as kids — exploring, imagining and seeing the world a little differently. We celebrate individuality, creativity and things that are perfectly imperfect. You don’t need to leave your personality at the door when you come to work with us. We also believe a Treehouse should belong to its neighbourhood and community. Our hotels are places for locals as much as travellers — filled with great food, drinks, music, people and experiences that reflect where we live. In Adelaide, that means celebrating the incredible produce, makers, growers, winemakers, artists, musicians and characters that make South Australia special. And, of course, we care about the birds, the bees and the trees. Being conscious of our impact on the planet is part of how we operate, from the things we source and the waste we reduce to the local partners and communities we support. Above all, Treehouse is about creating really good times — for our guests, our neighbours and each other. So, if you’re kind, curious, playful and positive, love being part of a team, aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and want to help us build something a little different in Adelaide, come play with us.
