Description

Playful. Nostalgic. Spirited. Full of soul.

Treehouse isn’t your typical hotel brand, and we’re not looking for a typical Bar Manager.

We’re creating a collection of bars and social spaces that locals will return to just as often as our hotel guests. Places with personality. Great music. Exceptional coffee. Cocktails with a story. A wine list that celebrates South Australia. Spaces that feel alive from morning through to late evening.

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just run bars—they create them.

The Role

As our Bar & Beverage Manager, you’ll be responsible for bringing the beverage vision for Treehouse Adelaide to life.

Joining during pre-opening, you’ll help design everything from the back bar to the beverage philosophy. You’ll source local producers, build relationships with winemakers, brewers and distillers, develop operating standards, recruit and train the team, and create experiences that become part of Adelaide’s social scene.

This role is as much about creativity and community as it is about operational excellence.

You’ll oversee:

  • Complete beverage procurement and supplier relationships
  • Cocktail menu creation and seasonal beverage programming
  • Coffee program development and quality standards
  • South Australian wine selection with a strong focus on regional producers
  • Local beers, spirits and native Australian ingredients
  • Beverage cost management and inventory control
  • Development of SOPs and operational standards
  • Recruitment, onboarding and training of the bar team
  • Beverage education across the wider Food & Beverage operation
  • Bar equipment specification and pre-opening commissioning
  • Licensing, compliance and responsible service standards
  • Working closely with Marketing to create events, collaborations and experiences that drive local visitation

We’re Looking For Someone Who…

Has opened bars or hospitality venues before—or has always wanted to.

You understand that a great cocktail starts long before it’s poured. It starts with relationships, creativity, attention to detail and a team that genuinely enjoys what they do.

You’re equally comfortable talking about fermentation, coffee extraction, native botanicals and GP percentages.

You probably know the local distillers by name.

You know which wineries are doing exciting things.

You’ve got a few favourite producers you’d love to showcase.

Most importantly, you understand that hospitality is theatre.

You lead from the floor.

You coach.

You taste.

You inspire.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous leadership experience in premium bars, lifestyle hotels or destination venues
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, coffee and beverage trends
  • Experience developing beverage concepts and seasonal menus
  • A passion for local South Australian produce, wine and artisan suppliers
  • Experience in beverage procurement and supplier negotiations
  • Sound understanding of beverage costing and commercial performance
  • Experience writing SOPs and setting operational standards
  • Exceptional coaching and training capability
  • High attention to detail without losing creativity
  • A collaborative leadership style and positive energy
  • Pre-opening experience will be highly regarded

Why Treehouse?

Because we believe bars should have personality.

Coffee should tell a story.

Cocktails should surprise people.

Wine should celebrate where we are.

And every guest should leave feeling just a little happier than when they arrived.

At Treehouse, we don’t simply serve drinks—we create places where people connect, celebrate and come back again and again.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to build one of Adelaide’s most talked-about beverage programs from day one, we’d love to hear from you.

Come and help us pour something unforgettable.

Company Overview

Life at Treehouse At Treehouse, we’re a team of kind-hearted people who welcome everyone like old friends. We believe great hospitality should feel warm, natural and full of personality — never stiff, scripted or overly serious. We’re playful, optimistic and curious, and we’re always looking for ways to make someone’s day a little brighter. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and getting things done together. Titles and job descriptions don’t stop us from jumping in to help one another, particularly when there’s an opportunity to create something special. We look for people who bring positive energy, see possibilities rather than problems, and aren’t afraid to try something new. Curiosity is a big part of who we are. Treehouse is inspired by that sense of freedom and discovery we had as kids — exploring, imagining and seeing the world a little differently. We celebrate individuality, creativity and things that are perfectly imperfect. You don’t need to leave your personality at the door when you come to work with us. We also believe a Treehouse should belong to its neighbourhood and community. Our hotels are places for locals as much as travellers — filled with great food, drinks, music, people and experiences that reflect where we live. In Adelaide, that means celebrating the incredible produce, makers, growers, winemakers, artists, musicians and characters that make South Australia special. And, of course, we care about the birds, the bees and the trees. Being conscious of our impact on the planet is part of how we operate, from the things we source and the waste we reduce to the local partners and communities we support. Above all, Treehouse is about creating really good times — for our guests, our neighbours and each other. So, if you’re kind, curious, playful and positive, love being part of a team, aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and want to help us build something a little different in Adelaide, come play with us.
