Description

TAUS Care is currently seeking experienced Senior Disability Support Workers for immediate opportunities supporting a few of our participants on Sunshine Coast.

These are complex support roles, and we are specifically looking for people who have genuine hands-on experience of 3+ years supporting participants with:

  • Autism
  • High and complex support needs
  • Behavioural escalations and proactive behaviour management
  • Complex personal care and daily living support

This role is best suited to support workers who are confident, calm under pressure, reliable, and experienced in delivering person-centred supports in complex environments.

Availability required:

Day Shifts: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

Sleepover Shifts: start time 2:00 pm & 4.30 pm, finishing the following morning around 8:00 am, with a sleepover component in between.

Pay rate:

$40+ per hour, depending on skills, experience, and suitability. Penalty rates and applicable shift payments are paid accordingly.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Administer medication and monitor clients’ health and well-being as per care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the supervising staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in social care.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years previous experience in a support or care role is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient attitude towards clients.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a care setting.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required.
  • Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Allied Health, Behaviour Support, Mental Health, or a related field will be highly preferred. 
  • Maybo training will be considered a strong advantage.
