Description

Reports to 

Head of Operations, AU & NZ and Global Head of Procurement 

Purpose 

The Australia & New Zealand Purchasing Manager is responsible for end-to-end purchasing activities across the AU and NZ operations. The role also reports back to our Head of Procurement (UK Based) to ensure alignment with Astraks global procurement strategies. This ensures the business secures high-quality goods and services at optimal cost, while maintaining supply continuity and supporting operational requirements. 

This role plays a key part in driving the “right amount of the right stock on hand”, cost efficiency, supplier performance, and inventory optimisation across a mid-sized business environment, working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support business growth and service delivery. 

Responsibilities 

  • Hands on with end-to-end purchasing processes across AU & NZ 
  • Ensure cost-effective procurement 
  • Maintain supplier relationships and performance  
  • Work with Sales, Operations and Finance on demand and inventory planning  
  • Monitor pricing, supply trends, and availability  
  • Ensure continuity of supply and manage supply risks  
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and compliance with policies  
  • Support reporting on procurement spends, savings, and supplier performance  
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement 

Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience in purchasing  
  • Experience in a $60M+ parts/ distribution business preferred  
  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory principles  
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience using NetStock or similar systems (e.g. StockIQ, Odoo). Applicants must be able to provide evidence.
