Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal System Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, Queensland. This contract role is pivotal in driving the development and implementation of advanced systems within the transport and rail industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our engineering solutions, contributing to the overall success of our projects and enhancing our operational capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the management (i.e. identification, allocation, traceability) and the fulfilment of Overall System Requirements for the entire life cycle of the project (Design and Testing)
- Guarantee the identification and the management of the project interfaces among the
subsystems and of external interfaces according to the project scope of work.
- Guarantee the proper and effective delivery of System Architecture, On Board Functionalities and Vehicle Integration.
- Guarantee effective and efficient preparation and execution of factory and Site Tests to verify and validate System Architecture, main System Functions and Vehicle Integration, Interfaces and operating Scenarios.
- Ensure the Verification activities of System Integration documents, according to the V&V Plan
- Ensure the application across assigned turnkey projects of standardized and optimized solutions to increase project efficiency and fulfil contract requirements
- Ensure the continuous updating of the design standards about System Integration in accordance to the technology and process improvements.
- Ensure the sharing of the technological lesson learnt across projects in System Integration and in the core Subsystems analysis.
- Support the implementation of an adequate and effective technical solution (e.g. interfaces with customers.
- Ensure that System Integration tests are performed across projects optimizing methodologies and sharing results project efficiency and fulfil contract requirements
- Ensure the continuous updating of the design standards about System Integration in accordance to the technology and process improvements.
- Ensure the sharing of the technological lesson learnt across projects in System Integration and in the core Subsystems analysis.
- Support the implementation of an adequate and effective technical solution (e.g. interfaces with customers.
- Ensure that System Integration tests are performed across projects optimizing methodologies and sharing results.
To be considered for this opportunity you must possess the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified
- Demonstrate significant experience as a Principal/Senior Engineer in a railway related project
- Experience in the application of system engineering standards such as ISO/IEC 15288 and 24748-1, preferably in the railway environment
- Experience in rail systems safety assurance and application of relevant CENELEC standards, and safety case development
- Experience in RAMS analysis, particularly in application of EN 50126.
- Ability to work with others and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, clients, consultants and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to write concise and comprehensive professional/ technical/contract letters and reports.
You will be highly regarded if you also have:
- Knowledge and experience in ETCS and/or CBTC rail environments
- Membership of a relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit
towards eligibility for membership (such as INCOSE/SESA or similar).
