What You’ll Do
Empower Independence: Work
collaboratively with participants to build life skills, achieve personal goals,
and foster self-determination.
Connect & Engage: Be
the bridge to the community by supporting clients at social events, employment
opportunities, and recreational activities.
Provide Meaningful Support:
Act as a trusted companion, offering vital emotional support and a
compassionate ear.
Facilitate Daily Living:
Assist with day-to-day essentials like meal prep, personal care, and safe
transport to appointments.
Collaborate for Care: Work
closely with families and healthcare professionals to implement individualized,
person-centred care plans.
What You Bring to the Team
·A compassionate, patient, and highly empathetic
nature.
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
with a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
·Adaptability and a calm approach when handling
challenging behaviours or situations.
·An understanding of person-centred practice,
disability rights, and NDIS safeguarding.
·An unrestricted driver’s license, reliable and
comprehensively insured vehicle, and a smartphone.
Qualifications
- ·Experience in a similar role is essential.
- Certification
in disability support or a related field is preferred.
- A
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent is highly
regarded.
The Essentials
Because we are deeply committed to participant safety, this risk-assessed role
requires the following clearances and training (or a willingness to obtain
them):
- NDIS
Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Recent
National Police Check (no more than 12 weeks old)
- Current
First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Manual
Handling Certificate
- Completion
of all mandatory NDIS training modules
