Learning Designer – Canvas LMS

Location: Hybrid Employment Type: Part-Time, Fixed-Term

We are seeking a skilled Learning Designer with experience in Canvas LMS to join our team on a short-term project focused on enhancing the quality, accessibility, and usability of our online learning environments.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about digital learning design, accessibility, and supporting academic staff to create engaging online experiences.

 

About the Role

This role involves:

  • Designing and building high-quality Canvas course sites
  • Applying universal design and accessibility principles
  • Supporting academic staff with course development and site design
  • Creating clear, practical resources and guides for staff
  • Contributing to consistent and engaging student learning experiences

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience with Canvas LMS course design
  • Strong knowledge of learning design principles and accessibility (UDL, WCAG)
  • Ability to create clear, engaging and well-structured online learning environments
  • Experience working collaboratively with academic staff
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in higher education or adult learning
  • Familiarity with tools such as H5P Articulate, or similar
  • Understanding of curriculum alignment and assessment design
