Description

Retail Store Manager

Part time, 3 days per week · On site, Dingley Village VIC · $65,000 to $70,000 pro rata + super · TGI Merchandise

The role

You’ll run the retail store day to day — the trading floor, the stock, the team and the numbers. It’s a small store with a big audience: 1 or 2 casuals on site with a pool of about 10 and a membership base that treats this shop as part of the club.

Three days a week, on site. You’ll report to the Senior Retail Manager, who covers the remaining trading days with you.

What you’ll do

Run the store

  • Deliver a genuinely good experience for members and fans walking through the door.
  • Own store performance: sales against target, presentation, merchandising and product displays.
  • Manage stock levels, replenishment and inventory accuracy with the warehouse and inventory teams.
  • Keep POS, cash handling and daily operational processes running correctly.

Lead the team

  • Roster and run a team of 10 casual and part-time staff across store and event trading.
  • Onboard and train new starters, and give direction on the floor during trade.
  • Hold the team to clear service and sales standards.

Work with the wider business

  • Support the Senior Retail Manager on sales targets and operational goals.
  • Feedback on product performance, customer comments and sales trends — you’re closest to the fans, and what you notice shapes what we buy.
  • Deliver product launches, promotions and campaigns in store.
  • Be the day-to-day contact for the club on retail matters.

You’ll also work with Merchandise, Finance and HR, plus club partners and third-party suppliers.

What you’ll need

  • Experience leading a retail team as a store manager, 2IC or supervisor — rostering, running a trading day end to end, and holding people to service and sales standards.
  • Confidence being the decision-maker on site. You’ll often be the most senior person in the store.
  • Systems capability: POS and ecommerce platforms (Lightspeed and BigCommerce preferred), stock management systems (NetSuite preferred), and Excel that’s solid enough for reporting and stock analysis.
  • Comfort with the physical side of retail: repeated lifting up to [20kg], ladder work, extended periods standing, and setup and pack-down of fixtures and stock.
  • An interest in sport, and enough product knowledge to talk to members about what they’re buying.

Nice to have: experience in the sporting industry, an understanding of the commercial sports landscape in Australia, or experience with high-profile brands where discretion matters.
