Description

At Tasmanian Oyster Co (TOC), we’re committed to being a leader in sustainable oyster production. We strive for best practice and continuous improvement in the management of the environment in which we operate.

The Role

We’re looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts and Administration Officer to join our Bellerive office on a six-month, part-time contract (0.6 FTE) with an immediate start.

This is a vital role supporting our small finance team with day-to-day accounts processing, reconciliations and general office administration. It would suit someone with experience in a similar accounts/administration role, or a recent accounting, finance or business graduate looking to develop practical workplace experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Monitor the accounts inbox and respond to supplier enquiries.
  • Assist with payment batches, reconciliations and end-of-month accounting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support across the business.
  • Assist with office coordination, including supplies, deliveries, mail and contractor arrangements.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An understanding of bookkeeping or financial administration.
  • Previous accounts or administration experience, or a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Xero or other accounting software is advantageous.
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and professional communication skills.

Benefits

  • Gain practical experience across both accounts and business administration.
  • Join a friendly and collaborative team.
  • Work in Bellerive rather than the city and enjoy free parking.
  • Discounted oysters!
