Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) is seeking a Lodge Host to join our Great Ocean Road Walk team in Victoria.

For more than 30 years, Tasmanian Walking Company has created unforgettable guided walking experiences that connect guests with some of Australia’s most remote, wild and remarkable places.

While our roots are in Tasmania, we also operate on mainland Australia and are entering an exciting period of growth as we expand our portfolio of walks and experiences.

Our boutique multi-day walks combine exceptional hospitality, genuine connection, and immersive nature-based experiences in extraordinary cultural and wilderness landscapes.

About the role:

We are seeking several Lodge Hosts (Casual) to join our team in Johanna, Victoria, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Great Ocean Walk and Great Otway National Park. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who loves hospitality, enjoys cooking, and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. You will host and cater for up to 10 guests at a time, while also supporting the day-to-day presentation, operation and upkeep of the cottages during your shift.

This casual seasonal role runs from mid-August 2026 to June 2027, with rosters typically ranging from 4 days on, 3 days off. Shared accommodation is provided while on shift.

About you:

You are warm, capable and self-motivated, with a genuine passion for hospitality and the outdoors. Given the remote nature of the role, you will be comfortable working autonomously, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, and confident managing both guest-facing and behind-the-scenes responsibilities.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar hospitality, hosting or guest service role
  • A commitment to high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, service, hygiene and safety
  • Experience preparing meals and supporting food service in line with food safety standards and procedures
  • The ability to build positive relationships with guests, team members and the local communitt
  • Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
  • Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) *to be certified in the state you will be working in*
  • Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005)
  • Provide CPR (HLTAID009) *must be current within 12 months*
  • Participate in Safe Food Handling (SITXFSA006)
