Description

The Tasmanian Walking Company (TWC) has been creating exceptional guided walking experiences for over 30 years across some of Australia’s most remarkable wilderness locations. We create immersive, boutique multi-day walking experiences that connect people with place, culture and the natural environment.

About the role:

As a Driver, you will play a key role in delivering seamless, safe, and enjoyable guest experiences. You’ll be transporting our guests and team to and from their adventures in Tasmania’s remote and wild landscapes – helping set the tone for the experiences that follow.

By applying to work at our Southern Tas walks, you will be journeying along the spectacular Tasman Peninsula to deliver guests to the iconic Three Capes Track, showcasing dramatic sea cliffs, coastal heath and some of Tasmania’s most breathtaking wilderness.

  • Safely transport guests and team to and from trailheads, lodges, city accommodation, and airports
  • Complete pre-departure checks and ensure all vehicles are clean, stocked and trip-ready
  • Provide a warm, professional, and helpful experience for guests during their journey
  • Assist with loading/unloading luggage and supplies, and deliver food and goods to lodges as required
  • Support guides and guest experience team as needed (e.g. tagging bags, providing directions, taking group photos)
  • Report any vehicle or safety issues promptly
  • Some Drivers on our Southern walks also work as crew aboard our 12m vessel, Kelp Dancer, in Port Arthur. If this is of interest to you, you’ll need to be physically fit and capable of working on the water under the guidance of our experienced skippers. Full training is provided, and previous marine experience is desirable.

About you:

  • Previous experience in tourism or customer service roles
  • Excellent driving skills and road safety awareness
  • Ability to use smartphone apps and basic digital tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and can-do attitude
  • A general interest in walking, the outdoors and Tasmanian nature is a bonus!

Licensing requirements:

  • Tasmanian Light Rigid (LR) Driver’s Licence
  • Tasmanian Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) Licence

Our team benefits include:

  • Established wellbeing program
  • Family & friend discounts across our walking products
  • Opportunities for ongoing training, social and professional development events
  • Exclusive pro-deals program for access to discounted adventure gear
