We’re looking for a passionate, energetic, and purpose-driven Youth Development & Education Facilitator to join our team at Phoenix Youth Hub in Crows Nest on a part-time basis (4 days per week).

About the Role 

As the Youth Development & Education Facilitator, you’ll work directly with young people facing barriers such as homelessness, trauma, family breakdown, mental health challenges and educational disengagement. 

You’ll deliver our innovative: 

✅ Work Ready Program ✅ Learn Ready Program ✅ Life Ready Program 

Through workshops at Phoenix Youth Hub and partner schools, while also providing case management, advocacy and support to help young people achieve their goals. 

No two days are the same. One day you might be facilitating a group workshop, the next you’re supporting a young person through their education pathway, connecting them with services, or working alongside schools and community partners to create positive outcomes. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

Program Delivery & Engagement 

  • Deliver engaging, youth-focused workshops and activities 
  • Facilitate the Work Ready, Learn Ready and Life Ready programs 
  • Create innovative learning resources and presentations 
  • Build strong relationships with young people, schools and community partners 
  • Foster safe, inclusive and trauma-informed learning environments 

Youth Support & Case Management 

  • Conduct assessments and identify individual needs 
  • Develop and monitor case plans 
  • Provide advocacy, referrals and coordinated support 
  • Support young people to achieve education, employment and personal development goals 
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools and service providers 

Community Partnerships 

  • Maintain professional networks across education, community and youth sectors 
  • Represent TYS in community and interagency forums 
  • Promote pathways into education, training, employment and support services 

About You 

You’re passionate about empowering young people and understand the challenges many face. 

You’ll bring: 

  • 3+ years’ experience as an Educator facilitator, Youth Worker, Case Manager, or in a related community services role 
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people in community, education or residential settings 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 
  • Strong case management and assessment skills 
  • Experience facilitating groups, workshops or training sessions 
  • Creativity and confidence developing engaging educational content 
  • Strong digital skills, including Canva and Microsoft Office 
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally safe practice 

Essential Requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Case Management, Social Work, Psychology, Education. 
  • Current Working with Children Check 
  • Undergo a National Police Check 
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence 
  • Access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle
