We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our team at our Pimba Workshop. Reporting to the Regional Workshop Manager – Pimba, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring the safe, efficient and timely servicing, repair and maintenance of our vehicles, plant and equipment.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic who is ready to step into a leadership role, or an established supervisor looking for their next opportunity within a busy transport and mining environment.
What you will be doing…
- Supervise and support mechanics, apprentices and other workshop personnel.
- Coordinate daily workshop activities, including scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and breakdown response.
- Manage workshop workloads and priorities to meet operational requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support with fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Monitor the quality of maintenance and repair work to ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Support maintenance planning, workshop resourcing and operational priorities.
- Ensure maintenance records, job cards and inspection reports are accurate and compliant.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance across the workshop.
- Review and approve employee timesheets when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and reduce costs.
Do you have…
- A Trade Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent relevant heavy vehicle mechanic qualification.
- Demonstrated experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, trailers, plant and associated equipment.
- Previous supervisory or Leading Hand experience is desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- A sound understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements, transport legislation and heavy vehicle standards.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence, with an HR or HC licence highly regarded.
- Confidence using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work the required roster arrangements, including 12-hour shifts.
