📅 Start November 2026 or early 2027

Sunshine Coast Neuro Rehab is a specialist neurological physiotherapy practice. We support people living with neurological conditions and older adults with balance and mobility difficulties to build their independence and achieve meaningful goals.

We’re looking for a warm, reliable Therapy Assistant to become part of our small and supportive team. This role is ideal for:

  • physiotherapy students who have completed at least their first year
  • people who have recently completed a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance

About the Role

Working under the guidance of our physiotherapists, you’ll deliver therapy programs in our clinic, in clients’ homes and in the community, including local pools from time to time.

This isn’t a role where you see a new face every half hour. Most of our clients are long-term, including people living with multiple sclerosis, stroke and brain injury, and older adults working on their balance. You’ll see the same people regularly, get to know them well and build real rapport as you help them work towards their goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exercise, balance and mobility programs prescribed by our physiotherapists. This may be in our clinic or in the community.
  • Supporting clients to practise everyday tasks such as walking, transfers and getting out in the community
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes and provide feedback on client progress.
  • Adjusting programs within your scope, and checking in with the physiotherapist when unsure
  • Keeping accurate clinical notes and feeding back on client progress
  • Looking after equipment and keeping the clinic safe and tidy
  • Helping with occasional reception and administration tasks

For home and community visits, you’ll use our work car when it’s available. At other times, you’ll use your own vehicle, with a travel allowance paid.

We’re open to filling this role with one person (around 15 hours per week) or sharing it between two people (around 8 hours per week each), which can suit students balancing uni. If you can only offer fewer hours, we’d still love to hear from you. We’re also flexible on start date: you could start in November 2026, once exams are finished, or early in 2027.

About You

You genuinely enjoy people. You’re friendly, patient and good at putting clients at ease, and you take pride in helping someone make progress, even in small steps. You’re a reliable team player who communicates well, follows guidance, asks questions when you’re unsure and wants to learn.

Some of our clients live with changes from brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions. These can affect how they communicate, concentrate, manage fatigue or respond on a given day. You stay calm, patient and non-judgemental, and you’re able to build trust and keep people engaged even when a session doesn’t go to plan.

Essential

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or a Physiotherapy Student with at least first year completed
  • Reliable, organised, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to engage positively and patiently with clients who may have cognitive, communication or behavioural changes following brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions
  • Reliable, organised and willing to learn
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card, or willingness to obtain them
  • Current driver’s licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Check, and Working With Children Check (Blue Card), or willingness to obtain them.
  • Current driver’s licence, plus access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle when the work car isn’t available
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Check and Blue Card, or willingness to obtain them

About Us

We’re a small specialist neurological physiotherapy practice that values kindness, professionalism, accountability and teamwork.

We work hard, support each other and genuinely care about giving our clients and their families an exceptional experience. We also take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Expect a friendly team, plenty of laughs and a slightly competitive monthly rubber duck photo challenge (yes, really).

We’re looking for the right person, someone who connects with people and fits well within our team.

What We Offer

  • $36.81 per hour plus super
  • Use of our work car when available, and a travel allowance of $1.01 per km when using your own vehicle
  • Your NDIS Worker Screening Check paid for by us
  • A thorough induction and ongoing training
  • Hands-on experience in neurological rehabilitation, with close guidance from experienced physiotherapists
  • Some flexibility around uni timetables (days to be confirmed)
  • For physio students, a potential pathway into a graduate physiotherapist role
  • For AHA graduates, a chance to build your career in neurological rehabilitation, with potential for more hours over time
  • Beautiful Buderim location
