The role

As our Senior Hydraulic Designer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of hydraulic and fire services solutions across a broad range of building projects. From concept design through to construction, you’ll work closely with clients, architects, contractors and internal engineering teams to deliver practical, compliant and buildable solutions while providing technical leadership and mentoring to others within the team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead hydraulic and fire services design across a range of building projects.
  • Design water supply, drainage, stormwater, wastewater, gas and fire services systems.
  • Manage projects from concept through to completion, including design, documentation, tender support and construction support.
  • Develop practical, efficient designs that meet client needs, Australian Standards and approval requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams.
  • Prepare and review hydraulic calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers, designers and drafters.
  • Keep designs compliant, practical and suitable for construction.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and technical advice.
  • Support business growth through proposals, fee submissions and identifying opportunities.

About you:

  • Diploma of Hydraulic Design or equivalent qualification.
  • 8–10+ years’ experience in Australian building services, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and/or AutoCAD for hydraulic design and documentation.
  • QBCC Hydraulic Services Design Licence, or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, local authority requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering medium to large-scale projects across all project phases.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, with the initiative to work independently and exercise technical judgement.
  • Full unrestricted Australian working rights
