We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play an integral role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting strategic decision-making, and partnering with leaders across the business to drive commercial outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance and at least three years’ experience in a similar position. You’ll have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, confidence using financial systems, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll be doing:

As our Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for supporting the financial performance and integrity of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and delivering accurate, timely financial reports
  • Managing month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting systems
  • Preparing and lodging BAS, payroll tax and other statutory compliance obligations
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules and capital expenditure reporting
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
  • Assisting with audit preparation and year-end financial reporting
  • Providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
  • Supporting Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to ensure timely collections and supplier payments
  • Assisting with payroll reconciliations, superannuation and employee-related reporting
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and internal controls
  • Partnering with Project Managers and business leaders to provide financial guidance and commercial insight
  • Supporting the wider Finance team during peak periods and business growth initiatives

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial systems (experience with Xero and Employment Hero will be highly regarded)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a desire to continuously improve processes
