Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Orange, New South Wales. The Estimator will be part of a team that plays a crucial role in the building and construction industry by providing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring that we remain competitive and profitable. Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for building and construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, Bills of Materials and detailed project estimates.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing to achieve competitive and commercially sound estimates.
• Maintain and update a database of costs and pricing for materials and services.
• Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil and shop drawings and project documentation
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and estimating software such as Buildsoft Cubit or similar platforms
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written communication skills, along with a White Card, current Driver Licence, Australian working rights and relevant construction, engineering, building or trade qualifications (highly regarded).
