Recruitment Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Recruitment Coordinator who will be responsible for end to end recruitment reporting into the People & Culture Lead. This is a part-time (2days a week) role based in Rockdale, where YOU can grow and make a difference.

Stepping Stone House is a not-for-profit charity that provides accommodation and personal development for children and young people aged 12-24 years old who through no fault of their own find themselves homeless, at risk of homelessness or unable to live at home. What you will be doing – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including advertising roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, completing reference and pre-employment checks, and preparing employment offers and contracts.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate and onboarding experience, coordinating inductions, system access, equipment, and probation processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Maintain recruitment compliance and records, ensuring all activities meet legislative requirements, Child Safe Standards, DCJ obligations, and organisational policies while keeping accurate records in Employment Hero.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop position descriptions, provide recruitment support and advice, and build effective talent pipelines to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Support continuous improvement across People & Culture, maintaining recruitment resources, identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and employer branding, and contributing to broader HR initiatives.

 About You – Selection Criteria

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience in recruitment talent acquisition or People & Culture administration, with responsibility for coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary recruitment practices, employment legislation and recruitment compliance requirements, including pre-employment screening and probity checks.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and candidates 
  • A proactive mindset with excellent organisational skills 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail  
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) and the ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Criminal History Check. 

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working within the community services, social services or not-for-profit sector. 
  • Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and workforce compliance requirements within the community services sector. 
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related discipline. 
  • Experience using Employment Hero (HRIS) and Employment Hero Recruitment (or similar applicant tracking systems). 
  • Understanding of Child Safe Standards and recruitment practices within child-safe organisations.
