About Stepping Stone House
Stepping Stone House is a not-for-profit charity that provides accommodation and personal development for children and young people aged 12-24 years old who through no fault of their own find themselves homeless, at risk of homelessness or unable to live at home. We have a foundation of building resilience through outdoor education and activities.

About the Role
The Head of Fundraising and Marketing collaborates with the CEO and senior leadership to shape bold strategies and operational plans that amplify SSH’s reputation and elevate its brand, paving the way for sustainable growth and scalable funding models — all in pursuit of our vision to end child and youth homelessness in Australia.
This is a full-time role based in Rockdale, where you can grow and make a difference.
What you will be doing – Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop an Impact Funding Strategy to secure sustainable multi-year-diversified funding from corporate, individual, grants and government sources
- Develop and deliver an operational plan to secure funding in alignment with the organisational and impact funding strategies
- Lead continuous improvement in existing fundraising initiatives
- Develop the annual funding budget and expenditure plan in collaboration with the CEO, Finance Manager and Care Team leadership
- Uplift the Stepping Stone House Brand
- Identify and secure new government funding streams to support SSH’s vision to End Child and Youth Homelessness in Australia via grants and tenders
- Ensure the longevity of key stakeholder relationships and improve donor journeys
- Develop SSH’s advocacy program
About You – Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualification in fundraising, marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years’ experience and demonstrated success at a management level in a communications, brand or fundraising role
- 5 + years of team leadership experience with proven success in developing team members and succession planning
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising and/or marketing strategies
- Proven ability to meet fundraising targets, along with creating and developing new fundraising opportunities
- High level analytical skills, with experience making decisions based on data insights
- Demonstrated project management, problem solving and time management skills
- Excellent written communication and editing skills as well as knowledge of appropriate publications, social media and promotional opportunities within the sector
- Understanding of homelessness and issues facing young people in the homelessness sector
- Experience working with digital tools like Salesforce to measure, manage and help drive fundraising goals
