Description

Venue General Manager (Food & Beverage) – The Langham Sydney

SRG Hospitality is one of Sydney’s most celebrated restaurant groups – a collection of 15 distinctive venues united by an unwavering commitment to exceptional guest experiences, culinary excellence, and a people-first culture. As we continue to grow, we’ve taken on one of our most exciting mandates yet: full operational leadership of the Food & Beverage division at The Langham Sydney, one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels.

We’re looking for a Venue General Manager to lead this F&B operation in its entirety — The James restaurant, in-room dining, event and conference catering, and hotel breakfast service. This is a standalone leadership role reporting directly to SRG’s Director of Food & Beverage, with full accountability for commercial performance, guest experience, and team leadership across every one of these outlets.

This is not a hotel management role – you won’t be responsible for rooms, front office or hotel operations. Your world is food and beverage, at a scale and complexity matched by very few venues in Sydney.

What You’ll Own

  • Full P&L accountability across The James, in-room dining, events catering and breakfast service
  • Leadership of a multi-outlet team spanning restaurant floor, banqueting/events and room service operations
  • Delivery of a consistently premium guest experience across every touchpoint, from a couple’s anniversary dinner to a 200-cover conference lunch
  • Recruitment, development and performance management of your leadership team and broader F&B staff
  • Close day-to-day partnership with The Langham’s hotel management team, ensuring seamless coordination between SRG’s F&B operation and the wider hotel guest experience
  • Structured commercial and operational reporting to SRG’s Director of F&B
  • Compliance across food safety, WHS and liquor licensing obligations across all outlets

About You

We’re open to two kinds of exceptional leaders for this role:

  • A highly experienced Venue General Manager or Restaurant General Manager from a complex, high-volume Sydney venue, ready to step up into a multi-outlet leadership role
  • An experienced hotel Food & Beverage leader who has operated at this level of complexity within a luxury hotel environment

You will bring:

  • A track record of running multi-faceted F&B operations with genuine commercial rigour
  • The ability to lead teams across distinctly different service styles — fine dining, events, in-room dining and breakfast — without compromising standards in any of them
  • Polished stakeholder management skills; you’re equally comfortable presenting performance to SRG’s F&B Director as you are partnering with hotel leadership
  • A guest-first mindset and the composure to operate in a luxury hotel environment where standards are non-negotiable

What’s On Offer

  • A highly competitive salary package, reflective of the scale and complexity of this role
  • The opportunity to lead one of the most prestigious F&B operations in Sydney’s hotel landscape
  • Genuine career growth within a fast-expanding hospitality group
  • Dining discounts across the SRG portfolio and access to professional development opportunities

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.

If you’re ready to lead F&B at one of Sydney’s most iconic addresses, we’d love to hear from you.
