About the Role
Are you a passionate and experienced leader in the disability sector looking for your next challenge?
Space For Life is seeking a Team Leader – Community Supports to provide strong, visible leadership across our community-based supports, including Social & Community Participation and Assistance with Daily Living (ADL).
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is highly engaged, visible and connected with both participants and Support Workers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred supports that help them build independence, develop meaningful relationships and actively participate in their communities.
You’ll lead, coach and mentor Support Workers, building highly engaged, capable and accountable teams. You’ll work closely with the Services and Community Engagement Lead, participants, families and other key stakeholders to ensure supports are aligned with individual goals, NDIS plans, preferences and support needs.
This is a full-time position on a 2-year fixed-term contract, offering SCHADS Level 4.3 plus superannuation, based at our Head Office in Mount Lawley.
What You’ll Be Doing
– Overseeing community-based service delivery
– Leading and engaging Community Support teams
– Maintain a visible presence across community supports
– Identify opportunities to improve community participation and individual outcomes
– Building strong relationships with participants, families, Support Coordinators and other key stakeholders,
– Supervising, mentoring and developing Support Workers
– Coordinating rosters and filling shift vacancies in collaboration with the Rostering team
– Monitoring participant NDIS plans, budgets support hours and service utilisation,
– Overseeing case note documentation participant records and incident reporting
– Leading staff training/development activities
– Participating in an on-call roster to provide 24/7 support as required
– Supporting a positive, safe and person-centred environment
About You
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the disability industry
– Demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience
– Strong understanding of NDIS practice standards and code of conduct
– Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
– Ability to engage effectively with participants, families and stakeholders
– Certificate IV in Disability/Community Services or higher
– Current Class C Driver’s Licence
– Willingness to be flexible and provide on-call support as required
Desirable:
– Current First Aid Certificate
– Understanding of the NDIS Code of Conduct and Practice Standards
– Knowledge of access and equity issues for culturally and linguistically diverse communities
