Position Purpose
Reporting to the Workforce Coordinator, the purpose of your role is:
- Assist the client to retain or regain independence.
- Encourage the client to do as much as possible for themselves.
- Promote and monitor the client’s overall wellbeing; and
- Read, understand and follow the directions in the client’s care plan, with regard to providing care and support to the client.
Position Responsibilities
As a Care Worker you will be matched based on skill level, personality traits and preferences to support long-term relationships.
As typical in aged care support, you will be assisting with:
- Domestic Assistance – supporting with everyday tasks around the home.
- Meal Support – assistance with the preparation and cooking of a meal, and the provision of advice on nutrition, menu planning, and food storage and preparation.
- Social Support – joining our clients for a morning walk or having a chat in their home; and other activities of daily living.
- Transport – your shift will consist of collecting and dropping off our clients to medical, shopping and general appointments.
- SWCC Fleet – washing and maintaining SWCC fleet of vehicles.
To thrive in this role you will have:
- A HLTAID011 Provide First Aid statement of attainment.
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet clients’ individual needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Own a smart phone with a sufficient data plan (Communications Allowance paid fortnightly).
- Current WA full driver’s license and a registered and insured vehicle – travel is part of your role, and you will be paid for travel time between clients.
