Sitemax is Australia’s go-to supplier of containment mesh and signage for construction and development sites — the stuff you see wrapping scaffolding and fencing on projects around the country. We’re based right here in Gympie.

WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY IS

About 60% maintenance and MIG welding. The rest is a genuine mix — getting orders out the door, runs to customer sites, and hands-on installs.

No two days are the same!

– MIG welding steel — fabricating and repairing frames, brackets and fixtures, plus keeping the workshop plant in one piece. This is the bulk of your week.

– Keeping our plant and equipment running: routine checks, repairs, and getting ahead of problems before they stop production

– Dispatching orders accurately

– Pick-ups and deliveries to customer sites in the company vehicle

– On-site installs — measuring, fitting and maintaining signage

– Keeping the workshop and warehouse safe, tidy and sorted

– Forklift operation — we’ll pay for your licence if you don’t have it.

 WHAT YOU NEED

– Confident MIG welding on steel, working unsupervised

– Current driver’s licence

– Real power tool skills and the nous to work out a fix without being walked through it

– The fitness to be on your feet and lifting all day

– Someone we can count on. Small team — when you’re not here, everyone feels it

NICE TO HAVE, NOT DEAL BREAKERS

 – White Card — or willing to get one; you’ll need it for site work

– Forklift licence

– Background in maintenance, fabrication, manufacturing or construction

WHAT YOU GET

 – $34–$38/hr depending on experience, plus super, plus paid overtime

– Local. No FIFO, no camp, no two-hour commute — you’re home for dinner

– Real variety. Workshop, warehouse and out on site, not the same four walls every day

– Company vehicle for all deliveries and site work — you’re not running your own car into the ground

– PPE supplied

– We pay for your tickets — forklift, White Card, and whatever else makes you better at the job
