Bookkeeper

About the role Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a part-time position with a reputable accounting firm? Shadow Accounting & Taxation Services, based in Kempsey NSW 2440, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our growing team. We offer flexible hours and the opportunity to transition into a full-time position as the business continues to grow. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of bookkeeping activities for a diverse range of clients.

What you’ll be doing

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgers
• Process payroll, including calculating and remitting taxes and deductions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports
• Liaise with clients to ensure timely and accurate financial information
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team as required

What we’re looking for

• At least 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small practice or accounting firm
• Strong proficiency in accounting software, mainly Xero
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with Australian taxation and reporting requirements
