Summary:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities within the community. Your support will empower clients to achieve their personal goals and foster independence, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need in a compassionate and respectful environment. This position is essential in promoting inclusivity and improving the overall wellbeing of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities.
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources and services to promote social inclusion.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress and wellbeing, reporting any changes to the appropriate professionals.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the community services sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
