We are hiring a newly created position of Project Manager to join our friendly, consultative and high-performing Delivery Team in Perth. As our PM, you will play a crucial role at Sequana in planning, executing, and overseeing projects for our customers. You will also lead and deliver multiscalar projects, exceeding our client’s expectations. This could include small (>$100k fee), medium ($300k fee) and major (>$1M fee) projects.

You will also proactively support our national team, constantly seeking to improve the way we deliver service to our clients and colleagues.

WHAT YOU DO

  • Responsible for leading and delivering small and medium to major projects to the agreed safety, schedule, budget, quality and risk management requirements. Be accountable for project delivery from commencement to finalisation.
  • Be the primary interface between the project team and our clients for assigned projects, having a keen understanding of client expectations and needs.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, mentoring and developing talent within the business and growing local team as appropriate.
  • Effectively and regularly communicate project objectives, status updates, and milestones to stakeholders and team members.
  • Work with the WA Regional Manager to select personnel, allocate work, monitor progress, and have overall responsibility for ensuring that work is prioritised and delivered effectively on a project level. This includes applying best for project resource management that draws upon local and interstate resources as agreed upon by interstate leads.
  • Provide accurate monthly accounts and reports on the performance of the projects with the support of project controllers. Provide resource forecasts to support the WA Regional Manager in managing pipeline and workload.
  • Develop project plans, manage project dependencies, and create risk management strategies as needed based on project scale.
  • Support tender preparation and client engagement activities to enable growth with water, resources and environment clients.
  • Evaluate project outcomes against established goals and performance metrics. Help identify improvement gaps and work with the team towards implementing corrective measures or documentation of lessons learnt.
  • Support the identification of new business opportunities and support business development in line with the Sequana WA Growth Strategy.

WHO YOU ARE

Candidates should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant credentials in project management and/or engineering.
  • Min 5 years of industry experience with a thorough understanding of infrastructure projects within the water and/or resources sector.
  • Existing client relationships within the water and/or resources sector is highly desirable.
  • Proven multi-disciplinary project management skills, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading projects as a client-facing technical lead.
  • A strong technical, strategic business case development or commercial background is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills through past experience in technical reporting, presentations and workshop facilitation.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software is advantageous, with adaptability to new systems as needed.
  • Ability to analyse data and draw insights within an ambiguous context.
  • A proactive and self-driven approach to learning and staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
  • Ability to perform under time pressure whilst providing high-quality outcomes in every aspect of work.
  • Proven commercial acumen including contractual management, tenders & bids, legal & procurement activities.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
