The role:
We’re on the lookout for experienced Disability Support Workers to join a newly established team to work in SIL home located in Goodna. In this role, you’ll support an NDIS participant with a neurological disorder, intellectual disability, high intensity needs and follow a Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering person-centred support and following individual care plans.
- Providing personal care (e.g. showering, toileting, dressing, mealtime assistance).
- Managing challenging behaviours and following Positive Behaviour Support Plan (training provided by Behaviour Support Practitioner)
- Supporting with household tasks such as meal prep, cooking, and cleaning.
- Assisting clients to engage in community and recreational activities (including swimming/hydrotherapy).
- Ensuring safe, compliant practices in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct and WHS standards.
Shifts available:
- 0600-1400
- 1400-2200
- 1400-2200 with sleepover until 0600
- 2200-0600 (active awake)
What You’ll Need:
- Experience with high intensity needs, challenging behaviours and supporting clients who are non verbal is extremely desirable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Passion for working with people with disabilities.
- Current paid NDIS Worker Screening check (yellow card) and Queensland Working With Children Check (blue card).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Driver licence, reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Full working rights in Australia.
