Are you an experienced disability sector senior operations leader ready to make a meaningful impact? SensesWA is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to provide senior operational leadership across multiple disability service streams, supporting safe, high-quality, compliant and financially sustainable service delivery. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and supports the strategic objectives set by the larger Executive team.

This role is ideal for a senior leader with extensive human services experience and a strong understanding of services delivered by multidisciplinary support teams.
About the role
The Senior Operations Manager provides senior operational leadership across allocated disability services, with responsibility for service delivery outcomes, service manager leadership, budgets, workforce planning, governance, risk, compliance, quality and external stakeholder engagement. The role works closely with and reports to the Chief Operating Officer, supporting implementation of operational priorities and providing analysis, recommendations and reporting to support effective decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Provide senior operational leadership across multiple disability service streams under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.
- Lead service managers, divisional leads and operational leaders to deliver multi-service outcomes.
- Support responsibility for budgets, workforce costs, service performance and financial sustainability.
- Lead operational planning, service improvement, service redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support governance, risk, compliance, safeguarding, incident management and quality systems across operational services.
- Prepare high-quality reports, analysis and recommendations for the Chief Operating Officer and support Executive or Board reporting where required.
- Represent SensesWA with funders, government, sector stakeholders and external partners as delegated by the Chief Operating Officer.
About you
You will be a confident and experienced senior operations leader with at least 7 years’ experience in the human services sector, including responsibility for complex service delivery, workforce leadership and operational performance outcomes. With a strong commercial acumen you will be comfortable leading service managers, engaging with funders and sector stakeholders, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and balancing quality, workforce, governance and financial priorities.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification in business, management, disability, community services or a related field.
- Extensive experience working in Human services
- Experience leading service managers, divisional leads, operational managers or large multi-site service teams.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, rostering models, recruitment, supervision, retention and performance management.
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including responsibility for budgets, workforce costs, utilisation, forecasting and service performance.
- Experience preparing reports, analysis and recommendations for senior leaders, including support for Executive or Board reporting where required.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, including engagement with funders, government or sector stakeholders.
- Current driver’s licence and ability to work across SensesWA locations.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and valid legal right to work in Australia.
Desirable experience
- Experience in not-for-profit disability, community or human services organisations.
- Strong understanding of NDIS service delivery, safeguarding, quality, governance and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting Supported Independent Living, Community Access or complex disability services.
- Experience in service development, business improvement, tenders, grants or fee-for-service models.
