About the role

Ruttley Services is looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Technician who is also a Licensed Electrician to join our growing team based in Chatswood.

We are a well-established residential plumbing and electrical service business, and we are now building out our air conditioning division. This is a great opportunity for the right person to come in early, help shape the way we do A/C, and grow with us as the division expands.

We only deal with residential repair, service and replacement work. This is not a commercial construction role, and we are not looking for someone who only wants to do large projects or site work.

This is not just a basic technician role. We are looking for someone who can diagnose, quote, communicate well with homeowners, and deliver quality work. You will be handling residential A/C service, fault finding, repairs, replacements and quoting, while also being able to assist with residential electrical jobs when required or when A/C work is quieter.

The role offers a strong salary package of $120,000–$160,000+ depending on experience, plus a fully maintained company vehicle, performance incentives and long-term career growth.

What you’ll be doing

• Service, diagnose and repair residential air conditioning systems
• Quote A/C repairs, replacements, upgrades and new installations
• Help homeowners understand their options in a clear and professional way
• Carry out electrical work where required, including A/C-related wiring, circuits and compliance checks
• Assist with general residential electrical service work when A/C work is quieter
• Identify opportunities to provide better solutions for customers
• Complete every job to a high standard, with strong attention to detail
• Maintain accurate job notes, photos, quotes and service records
• Work closely with our service, dispatch and management teams
• Help us build and improve our A/C systems, processes and standards as the division grows

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a quality tradesperson who takes pride in their work, presents well, and knows how to deal with residential customers properly.

You will ideally have:

• Experience as an Air Conditioning Technician
• Current NSW Electrical Licence
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
• Experience with residential split systems and ducted systems
• Ability to quote work confidently and explain options to homeowners
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A clean and professional approach in customers’ homes
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently and manage jobs properly
• A positive attitude and willingness to help grow the A/C side of the business

Experience in residential service, quoting, sales or premium customer service work will be highly regarded.
