About the Role:

• Part-time position – Monday to Friday, 10:00am–4:00pm

• Assist with basic food preparation, cooking and plating.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and allergy requirements at all times.
• Keep the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas clean and organised.
• Ensure meals are prepared in line with the centre’s menu and dietary requirements.
• Maintain safe food storage and handling practices.
• Assist with stock rotation and monitoring kitchen supplies.
• Work closely with educators to ensure children’s individual dietary needs are met.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Previous kitchen or childcare experience is preferred but not essential.
• Must be reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team.

What You’ll Need:

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but not essential
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate – desirable/required depending on your centre’s arrangements
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
• Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary requirements
• Awareness of children’s allergies and food safety
• Reliable, punctual and well organised
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good cleaning and hygiene standards
• Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid Certificate – desirable
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 10:00am–4:00pm consistently
