Security Officer

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team in Morwell, Victoria.

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all community members, Elders, staff, and visitors to our Medical Clinic. Operating within a culturally safe framework, this role balances traditional protective services—such as asset protection, access control, and incident management—with proactive community engagement. The position plays a vital role in upholding Ramahyuck’s values by utilising culturally appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques to support a peaceful, respectful, and inclusive space for the local community.

Responsibilities:

• Cultural Safety: Maintain a welcoming, culturally safe, and respectful environment for community members, Elders, and visitors.
• Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with local community members utilizing services at the corporation.
• Access Control: Monitor entry points to ensure safety while maintaining an approachable, non-intimidating presence.
• De-escalation: Use culturally appropriate communication and conflict resolution strategies to defuse tense situations.
• Site Protection: Conduct regular patrols of the building and grounds to secure assets and report maintenance hazards.
• Incident Reporting: Complete detailed shift logs and report incidents.

Qualifications:

• Victorian Private Security Licence issued via Victoria Police
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Current Working with Children’s Check
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check
• Current Victorian Driver’s License
• Must pass drug & alcohol testing
