Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation (RDAC) is inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to express their interest in our 2026 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Program.

Whether you are entering the workforce for the first time, changing careers, or looking to build on your existing skills, this traineeship will provide you with the qualifications, practical experience and ongoing support to establish a successful long-term career.
No previous experience in Community Services is required. We are looking for people who are motivated, passionate about supporting their community, and committed to learning and professional development.
About the Role
We are offering a full-time, paid 12-month traineeship that combines practical workplace experience with nationally recognised training.
Working under the guidance of an experienced Team Leader, you will gain hands-on experience across community services, administration and operational support while completing a Certificate IV or Diploma in a Social, Community and/or Youth Services related qualification through an approved
Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
To support your learning, RDAC provides two paid study days each week, dedicated mentoring throughout your traineeship, and ongoing workplace supervision.
During your traineeship, you will:
- Provide person-centred support across a range of community service programs.
- Assist with participant transport and community engagement activities.
- Support administrative and operational functions.
- Learn RDAC’s internal systems, processes and procedures.
- Assist with participant intake, referrals and service coordination.
- Develop report writing, case documentation and record management skills.
- Build strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Work collaboratively with experienced staff and multidisciplinary teams.
Eligible Qualifications
You will complete a Certificate IV or Diploma in a Social, Community and/or Youth Services related field, including (but not limited to):
- Community Services
- Youth Work
- Mental Health
- Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Business Administration
- Other related Community Services qualifications
If you wish to undertake a qualification not listed above, pre-approval will be required to ensure it aligns with the objectives of the traineeship.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain:
- A satisfactory National Criminal History Check.
- A satisfactory pre-employment Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) screen.
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check.
