Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Educator to join our team in Morwell, Victoria, on a permanent basis to cover maternity leave. This role is essential in providing a nurturing and educational environment for children, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a love for learning and supporting the individual needs of each child in our care.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and lead daily routine of appropriate early childhood education and experiences.
  • Assist in creating an appropriate environment which provides for developmental stimulation of children attending the centre.
  • Greet parents, careers and children upon entering and exiting the centre.
  • Positively interact with all children, nurturing their confidence and self-esteem giving each child individual attention and comfort throughout the day.
  • Contribute to and assist in the development and/or evaluation of the programmers and activities.
  • Ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children.
  • Supervise and engage in the activities of a group of children during the day that you are responsible for.
  • Provide information to the Centre Coordinator that is relevant to the care, development and safety of the children within the center.
  • Assist in planning for the ongoing development of each individual child.
  • Ensure all service delivery is culturally safe; respectful and culturally competent.
  • Work with staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the day to day running of the centre in accordance to your centre’s policies and procedures.
  • Be a productive, positive team member who contributes equally and honestly whilst respecting everyone’s opinions
  • Assist in the recording of children development and ensure information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
  • Satisfactory drug & alcohol screening.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Working with Children Check Clearance.
