Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation (RDAC) has proudly supported Aboriginal people and communities across Gippsland since 1992.
As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, we provide an extensive range of integrated services including Koori Maternity Services, General Practice, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Allied Health, Social and Emotional Wellbeing, Child and Family Services, Early Learning, Community Services, Client Transport and many more.

About the opportunity
This is an exciting time to join our growing Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health Service.
Recent investment has enabled us to expand our team and continue developing a flexible, relationship-based model of care that extends beyond traditional Maternal and Child Health service delivery.
Alongside delivering the Victorian Maternal and Child Health program, you’ll have opportunities to:
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with children, families and community.
- Deliver flexible consultations through clinic appointments, home visiting, outreach and telephone support.
- Support families with breastfeeding, infant feeding, safe sleeping, growth, development, early learning and parenting.
- Walk alongside families as they navigate health, disability and education services.
- Attend specialist appointments and multidisciplinary meetings where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Koori Maternity Services, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, General Practice, Allied Health, hospitals, early childhood services and community partners.
- Help shape and grow an innovative Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health service.

About you
You’re a Maternal and Child Health Nurse who values relationships as much as clinical expertise.
You’re curious, respectful and committed to lifelong learning.
You understand that listening is often the most important clinical skill.
You want to work in partnership with Aboriginal children, families and community.
Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities is welcomed but not essential.

Essential requirements
- Registered Nurse and Midwife with current AHPRA registration.
- Postgraduate qualification in Maternal and Child Health (or eligibility under Victorian MCH requirements).
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
- Satisfactory pre-employment Alcohol and Other Drug screening.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse and Midwife with current AHPRA registration and postgraduate qualification in Maternal and Child Health Nursing (or eligibility under Victorian MCH requirements).
- Experience in maternal and child health nursing, preferably within Aboriginal communities.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and health issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and community organisations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
