About the Role
We are seeking passionate and professional individuals to join our growing Racing Operations Team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and exciting environment, supporting race day operations at The Q, home of Queensland Greyhound Racing.
About Us
The Q, a new state of the art greyhound racing facility in Purga, situated on the outskirts of Ipswich. The facility includes 3 separate race tracks, a community club complete with a 350 seat restaurant, sports bar, a gaming room with 60 machines and a kids club.
The Club is committed to fostering a family-friendly and balanced workplace, offering flexibility in work arrangements to support personal commitments.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensuring integrity standards and animal welfare protocols are adhered to
- Preparing for race meetings and trial sessions.
- Supervision of kenneling.
- Supporting on track during race meetings and trial sessions
- Capable of performing manual tasks associated with track and kennel maintenance
Qualifications & experience
- Full paid training is provided
- Previous experience within the racing industry or animal care sector is considered an advantage.
- Ability to work within a team environment and to positively influence culture, yet work autonomously without supervision.
- Ability to take direction
- Sound communication skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn relevant racing regulations and integrity measures.
- Must have a passion for working with animals
- Ability to work evenings and weekends is a requirement of this position.
Employment is under the Racing Club and Events Award.
