Description

Adelaide | Full Time | Product Industrialisation

QuantX Labs is an emerging, world-leading deep-tech company developing advanced quantum and precision measurement technologies for Space, Defence and Commercial applications.

We are looking for an experienced New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to help take complex products from engineering development through pilot builds and into reliable, repeatable production.

Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Lead and working across the broader Engineering function, this practical, hands-on role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Quality and Supply Chain. You will work across these functions to drive product industrialisation, manufacturing readiness and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to work alongside internationally recognised technical experts and see your work translated into advanced products used by customers around the world.

The Role

As our NPI Engineer, you will lead the planning and coordination required to successfully industrialise new products and prepare them for production release.

You will work across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently, consistently and to the required quality standards.

Your work will span pilot builds, manufacturing processes, tooling and documentation, configuration and BOM development, manufacturing risk, production performance and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the transition of complex products from engineering development through pilot builds and into production.
  • Develop and coordinate NPI and manufacturing-readiness activities across Engineering, Product, Production, Quality and Supply Chain.
  • Drive manufacturability, Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Plan and support pilot builds, resolve manufacturing and test issues, and improve production readiness.
  • Establish key manufacturing processes, tooling, documentation, BOMs and acceptance criteria required for production release.
  • Contribute to manufacturing performance, continuous improvement, capacity planning and future production scaling.
  • Drive resolution of manufacturing, build and test issues identified during pilot production, qualification and production ramp-up.

About You

You will bring experience in NPI engineering, manufacturing engineering or product industrialisation within complex hardware products, such as electronics, photonics, precision instrumentation, medical devices, defence or aerospace systems, or scientific instrumentation.

You will ideally have experience taking products from development into production and working in a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment.

You will also bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline, with relevant technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, configuration management and quality systems.
  • Experience with ERP, PLM and/or manufacturing execution systems.
  • Strong cross-functional capability and confidence working with multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or similar quality systems will be highly regarded.

Why QuantX?

At QuantX Labs, you will work in a small, highly capable and collaborative team where your contribution is visible and your work has direct impact.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • work with cutting-edge quantum and precision measurement technology
  • influence how advanced products are industrialised and scaled
  • work closely with experts across physics, electronics, mechanical engineering, software and systems engineering
  • contribute directly to sovereign capability and globally relevant technologies
  • help establish the manufacturing systems and practices required as QuantX moves into its next stage of growth.

If you enjoy turning sophisticated engineering into products that can be built reliably, repeatedly and at scale, we would love to hear from you.
