SHEQ Officer/Farm Hand – Victoria East (Heath Hill 1-3, Catani, Yannathan & Koorang)
About the role
The primary role of the SHEQ Officer is to assist Farm Managers with the day-to-day work on the poultry farms and assisting with ProTen’s safety and compliance programs.
Duties will include but not limited to:
• Working as part of an effective and efficient team, including following direction from PM/ROM and assisting farm management.
• Working with livestock daily and making sure bird health and wellbeing is excellent.
• Daily shed routine checks, record keeping, grounds maintenance
• Completing minor repairs, reporting repairs to be made.
• Making sure company policies and biosecurity measures are followed at all times.
• Review farm SHEQ Planners to ensure they are carried out to standard, fully completed and up to date.
• Ensure required documents on noticeboards are displayed at all times and that they are within the current dates
• Assist in the delivery of Toolbox talks
• Assist in carrying out Safety walks and workplace inspections
• Assist with contractor inductions and signing in & out of farms
• Review and provide feedback on SHEQ documents
• Ensure paperwork is correctly completed, actioned and filed with regards to SHEQ related documents

About you
As this is an entry level role, previous experience with SHEQ systems is not essential, but would be highly regarded.
You are efficient, with excellent attention to detail and a compliance mindset. Your ability to keep accurate records, produce reports, make recommendations, and maintain a pro-active approach to SHEQ compliance and culture will be an asset to the business. You are a proven self-starter who is able to collaborate in a small team. We will provide you with the resources to get the job done.
You are prepared and committed to undertake further study (Cert 4 in WHS). You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort engaging with our teams and contractors at all levels.
The successful applicant must have the right to work in Australia, a current manual driver’s license, and have a willingness to conduct field work on a regular basis.
