Preston Hire is a leading business in the Hire & Rental Industry providing specialised lifting equipment to the Construction, Infrastructure and Rail sectors.

Our SuperCrane™ division operates a fleet of Mini Spider Cranes, Hydraulic Crawlers and Crawler Cranes supporting projects across metropolitan and regional areas throughout Australia.

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead SuperCrane™ operations within an assigned region.

This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle including business development, lift planning, mobilisation, site coordination, customer management, commercial performance and compliance outcomes across the regional crane fleet.

The position operates as the primary point of contact for regional projects and customers and works closely with operations, engineering, transport and sales teams to deliver safe and efficient crane solutions.

KEY TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Managing crane projects from enquiry through to project completion
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships across Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
  • Coordinating lift planning, mobilisation, transport and site activities
  • Managing quotations, tenders, variations and commercial documentation
  • Monitoring regional fleet utilisation, revenue performance and project profitability
  • Conducting site visits, pre-lift walk-throughs and customer meetings
  • Reviewing lift plans, SWMS and compliance documentation
  • Maintaining accurate CRM, project and utilisation records
  • Supporting and coordinating operational teams throughout project delivery

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Experience in project management, crane hire, construction equipment hire or related industries
  • Strong understanding of crane operations, lift planning and construction site requirements
  • Commercial and operational management capability including budgeting, utilisation and forecasting
  • Strong communication, customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and operational priorities
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office, CRM and business systems
  • Current driver’s licence and White Card

Crane industry experience, HRWL tickets, tender experience and existing contractor relationships will be highly regarded.
